Timeline Project (march 16, 2010)

Class assignment march 16, 2010
1.) Describe your assignment?
- Our assignment was to create a time line using the software from www.teach-nology.com, we choosed a topic on what our timeline will be on and researched dates based on the chronological order of that topic. Me and my partner desiree's topic was transportation and our them was Going for a ride!, so we created a time line based on the first types of transportation made. Then we used rubistar to generate a rubric based on students creating their time line and an online quiz from quiz-star which we generated questions based on the time line we made.
2.) What did you like about the time line websites? Rubistar and Quiz-star?
- With the time line websites it was really easy to use because it is simple and fairly easy to create a time line because all you have to do is input the data. With the rubistar and quiz-star it was easy and good as well because all the details were there and all you had to do was input your expectations and questions and the software generates it for you.
3.) How would you use these sites for a classroom assignment?
- The way i would use these sites for my classroom is if I were to have a time line project I would make them go to this website and generate their time line using it so that it is easier for them to create a timeline. Also for the rubistar I would use this site to make rubrics for my students project as well as quiz star to generate a quiz for them as well.
4.) how would you rate each software on a scale of 1 to 10?
- I would rate these softwares on a scale of 8 because even though it was easy you cant really do anything creative with it. But overall it was a good software to use.

Me and Dez web quest project

* if you want to view our web quest our site is http://zunal.com/webquest.php?w=52756

1. Describe your assignment.
- Me and my partner did a project called web quest where we created a site for students to participate in an activity that we created through the site zunal.com. Our title was the beauty of a butterfly and its a site where students will learn the stages of a butterflies life cycle. We created an activity that lets them explore, hunt, and observe a caterpillar in real life till it changed in to a butterfly.
2. What did you like/dislike about the web quest project? and why?
- What i liked about the project was that you could create a lesson that a student can go online and participate it following the different links that you created for them to do. Also with the web quest you could do anything to it to make it exciting for anyone to look and do as well.
3. What were the challenges you faced?
- The one challenged I faced was putting up links to sites so that participants could go on and do it themselves that matched my content area or topic. I couldn't find any links that would work.
4. If you had to do it all over, what would you do differently?
- I would change my topic that would be much easier and for it to have alot of resources on the net for me to work with. I would add more details so that the activity would be more fun and interesting for the students to participate in.
5. How do you think students will like using a web quest? why?
- I think students will like using the web quest because they are able to do activities on their own using the computer. The web quest will give them the opportunity to explore with the topic that is provided and have them expand their learning with the different site links you could add on. Students will really enjoy this type of learning because it is computer based rather than lecture or written assignments.

- i would rate this software a ten because its easy to use, no complicated directions to use and also it has alot of fun features you can do to your uploaded pictures. Its a really nice software to use.
